600/1000V, XLPE Insulated Cable IEC 60502-1 standard

In IEC 60502-1, XLPE insulated power cables are suitable for fixed laying on distribution lines or industrial installations with AC 50Hz and rated voltages of 0.6/1 kV and below.

The conductors of the cables can be copper or aluminum and aluminum alloys.

The number of cores can be 1 core, 2 cores, 3 cores, 4 cores, 5 cores.

The armor of the cable includes steel wire armor and steel tape armor. The non-magnetic armor material used in single-core AC cables.

According to the applicable occasions of the product, XLPE insulated power cables can be flame-retardant, fire-resistant, cold-resistant, etc. Flame-retardant cables include bundled combustion A, B, C, D types, and low-smoke, halogen-free flame-retardant and other series of cables.

The long-term allowable operating temperature of the cable conductor is 90°C. When a short circuit occurs (up to 5S), the maximum temperature of the XLPE insulation must not exceed 250°C. The laying temperature of the cable shall not be lower than 0°C。

Features

Compared with paper insulated cables and PVC insulated cables, XLPE insulated cables have excellent electrical properties, mechanical properties, heat aging resistance, environmental stress resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, and are simple in structure and easy to use. , not restricted by laying drop, long-term working temperature is high, etc.

Construction

1. Conductor
   The cable conductor material is composed of pure copper, aluminum and aluminum alloy. The cable conductors are solid core conductors, round stranded conductors, round compact conductors and fan-shaped conductors.
2. Insulation
   The insulation consists of extruded XLPE.
3. Cabled
   Multi-core cables are cabled with the cores using appropriate fillers to make the cable round.
4. Metal armor
   Wire armor generally consists of galvanized round steel wire or galvanized steel strip.
5. Outer sheath
   The cable outer sheath is composed of PVC (ST2) or PE (ST7). LSZH cables are ST8 compound.
