HD 620 applies to cables with extruded insulation and for rated voltages U o /U(U m ) from 3,6/6 (7,2) kV up to20,8/36(42) kV used in power distribution systems of voltages not exceeding the maximum r.m.s. value of the system voltage Um。

Features

  1. High temperature resistance
The insulation material of the medium voltage cable can withstand the long-term working temperature up to 90℃ or 105℃, and even the overload temperature of 130℃ or 140℃.
  2. Oil resistance
The sheath material of medium voltage cables can resist the erosion of oil and other chemicals, and is suitable for use in oily environments.
  3. Fire-resistant
Medium-voltage cables can maintain normal operation under fire conditions without causing sparks or short circuits, ensuring power supply safety.
  4. Water resistance
Medium voltage cables can be used underwater or in humid environments without degrading insulation performance or causing metal corrosion due to moisture.
  5. Space saving
Medium voltage cables can save laying space and costs due to their small outer diameter and high conveying capacity.

Application

Medium voltage cables refer to power cables with a rated voltage between 6KV and 33KV. Medium-voltage cables are an important type of application cables, widely used in petrochemical, transportation, wastewater treatment, food processing and other industrial fields, as well as distribution networks, marine engineering, renewable energy and other fields.

Construction

The structure of medium voltage cables generally consists of conductors, insulation, metal shielding, and sheaths. The conductor is generally made of copper or aluminum, the insulation is generally made of XLPE or EPR, the metal shield is generally made of copper tape or copper wire braid, and the sheath is generally made of PVC or PE.

Medium-voltage power cables have shielding and sheathing, and non-magnetic armoring can be used under necessary conditions. Refer to the figure below for the structure of conventional cables.
