The full name of ACSR is aluminum conductor steel reinforced.ACSR is a kind of bare wire without sheath. The ACSR conductor can be designed in such a way that the inside of the conductor is made of steel and the exterior of the conductor is made of pure aluminum, providing the conductor with additional strength to maintain its weight.

Concentric lay stranded conductors with a core made of galvanized steel wire and hard drawn aluminum wire are available as ACSR conductors. They can be greased or not.

ACSR is a wire with simple structure, low line cost, convenient erection and maintenance, large transmission capacity, and is conducive to laying across special geographical conditions such as rivers and valleys.

Features

ACSR has the characteristics of simple structure, low line cost, convenient erection and maintenance, large transmission capacity, and is conducive to laying across rivers and valleys and other special geographical conditions.

At the same time, it has good electrical conductivity and sufficient mechanical strength, tensile strength High strength, the distance between tower poles can be enlarged, etc.

Application

The primary application for ACSR, a high-capacity stranded conductor, is overhead power lines.

ACSR has been widely used for overhead transmission lines as the most cost-effective and dependable product.

ACSR is widely used in overhead transmission and distribution lines of various voltage levels.Due to its reliability and strength-to-weight ratio, ACSR is suitable for all practical spans of timber poles, transmission towers and other structures.

Construction

ACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of hard-drawn EC grade aluminum wires over a high strength coated steel core.

ACSR is made of multiple non-insulated single wires twisted together, the inside is a steel "core", and the outside is twisted with aluminum wires around the steel core; the steel core's primary function is to increase strength, and the aluminum stranded wire's primary function is to convey electrical energy.
